Dear Friends,
I recently read Phillip Brooks quote: “Do not pray for easy lives! Pray to be stronger men. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for powers equal to your tasks. Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle, but you shall be a miracle.”

As I contemplate any ministry for the Lord—none of it is easy. No genuine work of God is accomplished in my own strength or power. God does not want to share one speck of His glory with a man. Whatever God does, He enables men to do. To Him be the glory!

Here are some of our summer highlights:

· We traveled 5,600 miles to 20 churches from Nebraska, to Kansas, to Oklahoma, to Texas, and to Colorado with the 21 member Cornerstone Bible Institute (CBI) Singers. Phyllis and I were chaperons. I (Dave) spoke at each church a message from God’s Word. We are proclaiming to folks every where that CBI is here in the gorgeous Black Hills of South Dakota training future Christian workers for less than $4000 per school year!
· We also took part at the Grace and Truth Summer Camp for High School teens in northern Minnesota. Joe Charles and I (Dave) were the featured speakers. Joe gave five great messages from Romans and Ephesians and I spoke four times on the “Fear of the Lord” as well as a monologue presentation as “Pontius Pilate”.
· CBI is once again gearing up for another year of training the next generation of workers. Dave will teach 11 hours per week and Phyllis has two hours each week. Dave will be serving as the Christian Service Director at CBI. This means he must coordinate all the various Christian service assignments for CBI students.
· All three of our children are attending CBI this fall. Phyllis and I will learn about the so called “empty nest syndrome”.
· Along with Dave’s teaching responsibilities, he is serving as an elder at our local church in Hot Springs. This opportunity is a sacred privilege.
· Next summer plans include Dave doing a series of messages/classes on the neglected subject of Christian Apologetics and Defending The Faith. If you and/or your church is interested please contact Dave at any of the following numbers:
