Winter 2007
Dear Ones,
With the completion of another year we ought to be mindful of Romans 13:11 which says, “…for now salvation is nearer to us that when we believed.” What a glorious future we have as Christians.
Our continued ministry here at Cornerstone Bible Institute (CBI) is dedicated to serving students such as these. What a responsibility and a privilege to have an influence on these budding servants of Christ!

This past semester has seen a “bee-hive” of Spirit-led activity. In our day when far too many Christians have been shrinking back in their evangelistic responsibilities, there has been a renewed interest in proactive evangelism in our church family. This new zeal is, impart, due to the influence of the series “The Way of The Master”—a basic evangelism course which we have been using in our Sunday evening services. Both CBI students and a number of Calvary Baptist Church (CBC) members have actively been seeking opportunities to take the gospel to our community.

Our kids have been involved in other ministry opportunities as well. Justin, until recently, had been leading our church adult Sunday School class in various areas of Bible doctrine. A few weeks ago he gave that up to take a weekly pulpit supply opportunity near Chadron, Nebraska. He is teaching through the book of Daniel. He also works doing house painting and construction. Jenna and another gal (Jody) have been leading a weekly senior-ladies Bible study in the book of James. Jenna has been working at a local coffee shop and nursing home care for the elderly. Joel has been involved in a Monday “Afternoon Bible Club” outreach to area public school kids. They have had 12 to 16 kids attend each Monday. He also works at the local Pizza Hut.

Phyllis and I (Dave) remain actively teaching the next generation of Christian workers. Phyllis teaches a class on “Teaching Children”. She also helps in food preparation for the CBI students. I have a full load of 11 teaching hours per week. These classes include Apologetics, Genesis 1-12, Exodus to Deuteronomy, First and Second Thessalonians, and Church Planting. We derive great satisfaction knowing that our efforts here at CBI are training what could be the last generation of Christian workers before our Lord returns.

Our continued ministry here at CBI is directly proportionate to the faithfulness of our God through our supporters. We praise Him for His goodness to us! Correspondence with us can be made at:
